Apply now for The Big Tiny Show
Submit your artwork for Kolman & Reeb Gallery's upcoming juried exhibition, The Big Tiny Show. All subject matter, media and expressions are welcome, as long as they are 12" x 12" x 12" or smaller. Application Deadline: Oct. 25, 2023. Minnesota artists aged 18+ at any stage of their career are encouraged to apply. Show opens Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 and runs through Saturday, Feb. 3. Application fee: $30 for three entries.

The Northeast Community Band will resume rehearsals at 7 pm Thursday, Sept. 14 at Edison High School, 700 22nd Ave. NE. There are no auditions. The band plays five or six concerts a year and is considering a short summer season. Repertoire includes marches, show tunes and classical and modern concert band pieces. Dues are $60 per year.

Saturday, Sept. 16, 9 am-12 pm at the Columbia Heights Recycling Center, 3801 Madison St. NE. Meet your volunteers and learn how current recycling practices enhance our communities and protect our environment. Refreshments will be served while supplies last. Remember to bring your soft plastics for recycling into benches (anything stretchable); cardboard, newspapers and periodicals; scrap metals; fluorescent light bulbs; and more.
