Columbia Heights Buy Nothing event
The Buy Nothing Group and First Lutheran Church, 1555 40th Ave. NE, will host a free giveaway event, like a free flea market or swap meet. Bring items you want to give away, and at the end, take whatever items of yours are left. Saturday, May 6, 10 am-2 pm. Load in 9:30-10, load out 1-1:30. First Lutheran Church, front lobby area. "The Mississippi River and Our Relationship With It" is the theme of the Audubon Neighborhood Association's Spring Festival, Saturday, May 6, 11 am-4 pm at Audubon Park, 1320 29th Ave. NE. The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization gave the neighborhood a grant to put on the festival, which will provide a look at the river's history and current status. The Patriots Marching Band Blitz is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 10 am-1 pm. Band students will go door-to-door, seeking donations in the St. Anthony/New Brighton school district to support the award-winning high school marching band. The Patriots Marching Band will represent the community in local parades this summer and perform in the July 4th Greeley Stampede parade in Colorado.
