East Side Neighborhood Services, 1700 2nd St. NE. Registration: 612-787-4086 or VitalLiving@esns.org. Thursdays Weekly, 10:30-11:30 am, in person. A wide variety of balance, strength and flexibility movements will be incorporated into this fun and social group class. No cost. Pre-registration is helpful for planning purposes but not required. Find out more »Exhibit opening: “We Are Here To Stay” the California Building Story
Friday, May 2, 7-9 pm. This immersive and interactive exhibition celebrates the legacy of the California Building, from the exodus of the downtown art scene to NE Minneapolis starting in 1991. The California Building became the first factory in Northeast Minneapolis dedicated entirely to workspace for artists. Hennepin County will host a community collection of hazardous wastes Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at the City of Minneapolis Equipment Storage Building, 1809 Washington St. NE. Bring unwanted paints, stains, varnish, aerosol cans, gasoline, antifreeze, batteries (tape terminals), pesticides and more for safe disposal, 9 am to 3 pm.
