California Dreamin’
The California Building, 2205 California St. NE, will be open for California Dreamin’, part of the Fall Open Studios weekend hosted by the Arts District and NEMAA. Dates are Nov. 4, 5-10 pm, Nov. 5, 11 am-8 pm, and Nov. 6, 12-5 pm. Compassionate Ocean Zen Center, 652 17th Ave. NE, invites neighbors and those curious about Zen to attend an open house on Friday, Nov. 4, 7-9 pm. They offer opportunities for meditation practice and retreats, weekly talks, and classes on Buddhist teachings. Programs in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) are held four times a year. Visitors can tour the center, learn about programs, and meet Guiding Teachers. All are welcome. Masks required while inside the building.
