Free solar information sessions
Nonprofit group Solar United Neighbors (SUN), Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light, and Cook County Local Energy Project recently launched the Twin Cities Solar Area Co-op to help Minneapolis and Saint Paul area residents go solar. For the third year, Columbia Heights will assemble a wall calendar featuring images submitted by the public. This year’s theme is “Art of Columbia Heights.” Three categories of submissions are eligible: 1.) Northeast Minneapolis-based artist Ellie Kidder is seeking participation from women (including femme/transgender/non-binary) for a new art project funded by Minnesota State Art Board called Women of Northeast Minneapolis. The finished work will present a variety of stories about the communities the participating women are part of, in the form of writings and portraits. Faith United Methodist, 2708 33rd Ave. NE, will hold its 2nd annual Trunk-or-Treat/Nourish 282 Food Drive on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2-4 pm in the church parking lot.
