Minneapolis free meal program to continue through summer
Minneapolis Public Schools will continue its free meal program for all youth 18 and younger throughout the summer of 2021. Food boxes containing a week’s worth of breakfasts and lunches will be available for pick up at select locations.

MSP Film Society has announce that the 40th Minneapolis St. Paul International
Film Festival (MSPIFF40) will be Thursday, May 13-Sunday, May 23. Due to the
ongoing pandemic, MSPIFF40 will be a hybrid festival, with films and panels presented primarily in the virtual world, with plans for several outdoor screenings.

The St. Anthony West Neighborhood Organization (STAWNO) Board of Directors will meet Thursday, May 13, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. The primary topic for this month's meeting is rent control initiatives, featuring a presentation by Minneapolis United for Rent Control (MURC). All are encouraged to attend. The area of Columbia Heights today went through a number of name changes before the 20th century. First as part of the tiny county of Manomin, and later joining Anoka County as Manomin Township and then Fridley Township. It wasn’t until 1898 that the name Columbia Heights appears when it incorporated as a village.
