Thursday, Jan. 27, 2-3:30 pm. Develop your own limited edition trading cards and swap them with your friends. Learn how to use watercolor pencils to draw, paint, blend, and layer a set of collectable artist cards. For ages 7 and up. This program will be presented virtually via Zoom. Benjamin Merritt’s exhibition, "A feather plucked from its bird", is titled after his eponymous new artist’s book, a variable collection of unbound handmade prints produced through multiple printmaking processes. Merritt works from copperplate etchings, scraping away the copper to transpose a long history of gestures and marks on the final print. The Ukrainian Center will sell frozen pierogies and to-go bowls of borscht at the NE Farmers Market "Winter Market", Saturday, Feb. 5, 11 am-1 pm at St Boniface Church, 629 2nd St. NE (parking lot). Pierogies include a side of sauteed onions & sour cream packet, $13/dozen. Bowls of borscht are $5. Heat and eat immediately or freeze and use later for those sub-zero winter nights. Fundraising proceeds benefit cultural and youth programs at the Ukrainian Center.
