Juneteenth Minnesota 2022: West Broadway Block Party
This event focuses on Black economic development, specifically the creation and sustainability of Black Owned Businesses in Minnesota and solving socio-economic problems such as police brutality, mental illness, and the decline of home and business ownership. The main objective is to engage with community members to discuss and find solutions to issues that directly impact Black families and their community while celebrating an historic moment in African American history. East Side Neighborhood Services' Caregiver Support Groups meet via Zoom twice in June. In these supportive environments you can: get connected to the community resources you need, meet and support other people with similar experiences, learn self-care strategies and coping techniques, vent, share your personal experiences. The Celebrate Northeast Parade is back, Tuesday, June 21, 6:30-9 pm. The parade will run south on Central Avenue between 27th and 18th Avenues NE. More than 100 entrants participate in the parade, a combination of neighborhood organizations, businesses, nonprofits, local schools, marching bands, politicians, entertainers and Shriners.
