EMERGE Open Houses

EMERGE, a workforce and community development nonprofit, will host two open houses Saturday, April 26, 11 am-3 pm. Second Chance Recycling, 1179 15^th Ave. SE, will provide tours to show how mattresses are deconstructed and 90% of the materials sent out to become new products. Each year, Second Chance recycles 90,000 mattresses, while providing transitional jobs to people with barriers to employment. Furnish Office & Home, 850 15^th Ave. NE, is a nonprofit retail store that offers a changing selection of high-quality, gently used office and home furniture keeping 500 tons of materials out of landfills in 2024 alone.  Both sites will have food, activities and giveaways.
