SUMMARY:EMERGE Open Houses
DESCRIPTION:EMERGE\, a workforce and community development nonprofit\, will host two open houses Saturday\, April 26\, 11 am-3 pm. Second Chance Recycling\, 1179 15th Ave. SE\, will provide tours to show how mattresses are deconstructed and 90% of the materials sent out to become new products. Each year\, Second Chance recycles 90\,000 mattresses\, while providing transitional jobs to people with barriers to employment. Furnish Office & Home\, 850 15th Ave. NE\, is a nonprofit retail store that offers a changing selection of high-quality\, gently used office and home furniture keeping 500 tons of materials out of landfills in 2024 alone.  Both sites will have food\, activities and giveaways. \n  \n
