Artist seeks women for art project
October 29 - November 30
Northeast Minneapolis-based artist Ellie Kidder is seeking participation from women (including femme/transgender/non-binary) for a new art project funded by Minnesota State Art Board called Women of Northeast Minneapolis. The finished work will present a variety of stories about the communities the participating women are part of, in the form of writings and portraits.
In order to receive a diverse cross-section of participants, Kidder will offer an interpreter for translation or interpretation. Kidder’s goal is to help gain a perspective that women from all kinds of cultures and backgrounds can and do contribute significantly to Northeast Minneapolis. Women with disabilities, however that may be defined, are welcome as well.
Nominate yourself or others on the website using the Contact form, or by contacting Ellie using the information below. The project will consist of an interview, an opportunity to share your story and your relationship to and with Northeast Minneapolis. Selected candidates will have a portrait done. There will be a gallery opening of the completed portraits in early January 2023. Check out this website: www.neminneapoliswomen.weebly.com.
