Calendar Art Sought
Northeast Minneapolis Arts District needs art images that represent Northeast, for the 2027 Calendar. They want vibrant, active, beautiful and/or humorous art images, including but not limited to paintings, collages, printmaking, photographs and drawings about Northeast Minneapolis, that represent, convey and capture a sense of our community togetherness and spirit. School Supplies Swap-it
Hennepin County will hold a school supply Swap-it at Northeast Library, 2200 Central Ave. NE, Saturday, Aug. 1-Thursday, Aug. 13. Drop off or take home new or gently used school supplies, from 3-ring binders to backpacks. Look for a collection container or ask a librarian where to bring your donation. The workshop developed by interdisciplinary artist and choreographer Victoria Bradford Styrbicki introduces attendees to the idea that water holds memory — of storms, pollution, healing, migration, and care — and that our own bodies also carry stories shaped by our environments.
