Mississippi Musings: “Restoration, Conservation & Mending”
Join Dr. Alex Roth of Friends of the Mississippi River and poet, Moheb Soliman, as they share their experiences of restoration along the Mississippi River...including the reconstruction of Hall's Island. Participants can contribute to a community river-themed art project. Saruday, April 18 9-11:30 am, MWMO Stormwater Park and Learning Center, 2522 Marshall St. NE. Celebrate Earth Day at MWMO Stormwater Park and Learning Center, 2522 Marshall St. NE. Join author and muralist Katie Yamasaki as she celebrates the release of her newest picture book, Ripples. The event will include a short talk from Yamasaki and Michelle Spangler from the Mississippi Watershed sharing tips of what you can do to keep the Mississippi River clean, along with kid-friendly activities, and a book signing (with sales from Wild Rumpus Bookstore). Wednesday, April 22, 6-7:30 pm.
