NECB Holiday Concert at Washburn
The Northeast Community Band will peform its annual holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 11, at Washburn High School, 201 W. 49th St., while the Edison auditorium remains under renovation. The downbeat is at 7 pm. The band will also hold a raffle to support its Ralph Sowden Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to a senior Edison musician each year. St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 2201 3rd St. NE, will hold a Christmas Cookie and Craft Sale Saturday, Dec. 13, 9 am-4 pm. Check out assorted holiday baked goods (including nut and poppyseed rolls), Christmas decor, crafts and gift items. Specialty food items will also be available to enjoy while you shop. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will arrive Sunday, Dec. 14 at 37th Avenue and Stinson Boulevard in Minneapolis at 8:15 pm. American Authors and Pynk Beard will provide live entertainment during the half-hour stop. Proceeds benefit East Side Neighborhood Services.
