Lenten Fish Fries at Holy Cross
Holy Cross will hold fish fries on Fridays throughout the Lenten season, with the exception of March 10 and April 7. They run 5-7 pm Feb. 24, March 3, 17, 24 and 31. Adults $12, children under 12 $2. Holy Cross Kolbe Hall, 1630 4th St. NE. All proceeds will go to the Don Bosco Youth Fund, which encourages the youth within the parish to pursue a life of discipleship through Catholic education, family faith formation and other youth activities.

Join Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) at their 11th annual "Hops for Hunger" fundraiser Friday, March 24, 6-9 pm at Quincy Hall, 1325 Quincy St. NE. Sample brews from area breweries and help fight hunger. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door. One ticket will provide food for a family of five for a month. Hot Dash, the running event with a food reward at the end, will be held Saturday, March 25, starting at 8 am at Boom Island Park, 724 Sibley St. NE. 5K runners start at 8:45, 10-milers at 9:15. Kids running the Tater Trot start at 10:30. Sample various hotdishes, toast some marshmallows, take a chance on a meat raffle. The Minneapolis Youth Baseball Association (MYAB), also known as the Minneapolis Millers, is a nonprofit organization operated by volunteers passionate about teaching kids to play baseball. Grocery shop for seniors through Help At Your Door. Start your day off right and get some exercise while helping older adults meet their grocery needs. As a volunteer shopper you will work with a team of volunteers to fill orders at the grocery store for about 3 hours once a week or twice per month. Volunteers do not pay for groceries. The Northeast Chorale is about to begin its spring season. Rehearsals will be held at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1509 27th Ave.NE, 6:30-8:30 pm on Tuesdays, March 28-May 30. At the end of the spring season, concerts will be held on the evening of June 3 and the afternoon of June 4. Participation is $25 for adults and $15 for high school students. No auditions required.
