LPNA Clothing Swap
Saturday, Oct. 12, 10 am-1 pm, Logan Park Recreation Center, 690 13th Ave. NE. Bring no more than 15 clothing items you no longer want or need (in clean, wearable condition-something you would give to a friend) to share in the swap, then “shop” the items others have brought. No undergarments or socks, adult-sized pajamas, workout clothing/yoga pants, clothing with embroidered or screen printed personalization (i.e., team sweatshirts), housewares, bedding, linens or toys. Responding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Piotr Szyhalski began drawing Labor Camp Reports once again. Much like the COVID-19: Labor Camp Report series from 2020, this new and ongoing body of work serves as a way of witnessing and recording the experience of “extreme historical phenomenon” unfolding in real time. Owámni: Falling Water Festival is a celebration of indigenous Minnesota cultures. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 12, 1-5 pm at Mill Ruins Park and Water Works, 4 West River Pkwy. Owámni is what the Dakota called the area at St. Anthony Falls. In this two-day class, students will make of variety of different kinds of jewelry, including beads and jewelry boxes made from air dry clay and origami paper to Shrinky Dink earrings, pendants and keychains.
