“Big Fish” at St. Matthew
St. Matthew Community Theater, 4101 Washington Street NE, Columbia Heights, MN, will present its 26th annual spring Broadway musical, “Big Fish," May 2-4 and May 9-11 at 7 pm, and May 5 & 12 at 2 pm. The Saturday shows will be preceded by a dinner/social hour. Proceeds from the event will benefit the theater ministry and a teen mission trip. Catholic Eldercare will host a free presentation on Monday, May 6, 1:30-3 pm at the MainStreet Lodge, 909 Main St. NE. The sonnet is a short poem, crafted in one of several possible patterns, and focused on a main idea. It derives much of its strength form the conventions of developing that main idea, and then responding to it. Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week with the City of St. Anthony, Wednesday, May 8, at St. Anthony City Hall. Ramsey County will have a presentation about organics recycling and benefits at 6 pm. Participants will receive a free veggie peeler and organics recycling starter kit while supplies last. A free compost giveaway begins at 6:30 pm.

The St. Anthony Village High School Patriot's Marching Band 'Blitz' is scheduled for Saturday, May 11. For this fundraiser, students go house to house throughout the St. Anthony/New Brighton School District asking for donations for the Patriots Marching Band.
