The St. Anthony Friends of the Library will have an Author Talk, Monday, Oct. 21, 6:15-8 pm, at The Legacy of St. Anthony. Duchess Harris, co-author of “Hidden Human Computers: The Black Women of NASA,” will discuss her research and the history behind her book, as well the movie “Hidden Figures.”

The Northeast Community Band will present a fall concert Thursday, October 24, 7 pm at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland Street NE. The band, under the direction of Tim Martin, will perform a pair of little-known Sousa marches as well as pieces evoking the autumnal season. Free. The band is still looking for percussionists. Northeast United Methodist Church will hold a Fall Arts & Crafts Fair, Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 am-4 pm. Top-quality local crafts will be featured, as well as freshly-canned salsas, jams and jellies from the church's community garden. A silent auction and a quilt raffle will be held, and a tea-leaf reader will also be present. Lunch will be served from Noon-2 pm. Proceeds from the lunch will go to Little Kitchen Food Shelf.
