Marshall Terrace neighborhood people and anyone else interested in river and shoreline habitat are invited to an event Saturday, Oct. 19 11 am-1 pm. behind 2648 Marshall St. NE. The Shoreline Buffer Project is the capstone project of a new water steward.

The St. Anthony Friends of the Library will have an Author Talk, Monday, Oct. 21, 6:15-8 pm, at The Legacy of St. Anthony. Duchess Harris, co-author of “Hidden Human Computers: The Black Women of NASA,” will discuss her research and the history behind her book, as well the movie “Hidden Figures.”

The Northeast Community Band will present a fall concert Thursday, October 24, 7 pm at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland Street NE. The band, under the direction of Tim Martin, will perform a pair of little-known Sousa marches as well as pieces evoking the autumnal season. Free. The band is still looking for percussionists.
