Columbia Heights' annual Truck or Treat event is doing things a little differently this year, taking COVID-19 precautions. The special “Boo Drive-Thru” will feature city trucks, police cars, fire trucks, snowplows, and a number of other vehicles on display and showing off their lights as visitors drive along a guided route to view each of the stations. Premiering Friday, Oct. 30. Everyone’s favorite Halloween event is back for its sixth year! Beltrami Park - formerly Maple Hill Cemetery - has a terrifying history that is told every year by none other than Ole Johnson. Virtual Owámni Falling Water Festival programs and activities

Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) is supporting the artists who would normally be holding open studio events in buildings across the area, online at shop.NEMAA.org/open-studios. HeightsNEXT is organizing volunteers for a fall cleanup along Central Avenue. Volunteers’ efforts will freshen up local streetscapes and prevent trash from drifting with next spring’s melting snow through storm drains into the Mississippi River.
