The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will roll into the neighborhood Thursday, Dec. 12. In its 26th year of operation, the train will stop at 37th and Stinson Blvd. approximately 8:15-8:45 pm. The Lone Bellow and Tiera Kennedy are scheduled to perform. The train raises money for food banks in its areas of operation; East Side Neighborhood Services will be the beneficiary.

Art and Science on the River: Salt Workshop
Learn about the impacts of salt on the Mississippi River and the surrounding watershed at the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 am-12 pm. Artists Kimberly Boustead and Annie Hejny will lead an art-making activity centered around the interaction of salt and water, and MWMO staff member Abby Moore will share information about salt pollution in the river and best practices to prevent it. A jigsaw competition, a collaboration between St. Anthony Community Services and Silverwood Park will take place Sunday, Feb. 23, 3-5 pm at Silverwood Park, 2500 County Rd. E, St Anthony Teams of up to four will race against the clock to complete a 500-piece puzzle in 2 hours, with volunteer judges tracking progress and prizes for top finishers. Empty Bowls NE
Potters create handcrafted bowls; Northeast restaurants provide soup/bread; you donate what you can and keep your bowl as a reminder of hunger in the community; proceeds go to local food shelves.
