Art and Artifact: Murals from the Minneapolis Uprising
An exhibition of the murals that appeared in the Twin Cities - including some in Northeast - following the May 25, 2020, murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police will be held Sept. 10-Dec. 7 at Katherine E. Nash Gallery, Regis Center for Art, University of Minnesota, 405 21st Ave. S. Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21. St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral, 1701 5th St. NE. Enjoy local ethnic foods including perohi and holubki, pulled pork and lamb sandwiches as well as offerings from food trucks. Live entertainment, a book sale, bingo, beer, and children's activities. Cine Latino Film Festival
The Cine Latino Film Festival returns to The Main Cinema, 115 SE Main St., Oct. 9-13, for five days of Spanish-language films, visiting filmmakers, fiestas and food trucks. Owámni: Falling Water Festival is a celebration of indigenous Minnesota cultures. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 12, 1-5 pm at Mill Ruins Park and Water Works, 4 West River Pkwy. Owámni is what the Dakota called the area at St. Anthony Falls.
