Columbia Heights kids in grades 4-8 present free Puppet Wagon peformances at local parks every Thursday (Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE) and Friday (Ramsdell Park, 4956 Johnson St. NE) June 9-Aug. 11. Shows start at 10 am and run approximately 30 minutes. No shows July 6 and 7.

The re-do of Father Hennepin Park is finished, and the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board plans to celebrate with a concert on Tuesday, July 11, 6:45 pm. Bilingual monarch festival
Celebrate the monarch butterfly Wednesday, Aug. 9, starting at 5 pm at Kordiak Park, 1845 49th Ave. NE. A bilingual Spanish and English celebration with monarch and pollinator information booths, food trucks, games, traditional Mexican dance and music, an Encanto and Coco dance party, a monarch costume parade and an opportunity to learn more about how to help monarch butterflies.
