Fun on the Run at Windom Park
Youth and Teens are invited to Windom Northeast Park, 2251 Hayes St. NE, Thursdays, 1-3 pm, for fun and games at a safe and social distance.

Welcome the herons back to Marshall Terrace
Great blue herons return to their rookery on the Mississippi River toward the end of March. Join Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Park Ranger Sharon at 11 am-1 pm Saturday, March 27 to watch them. The event will be down on the banks of the Mississippi River, weather permitting. Prepare for some mud or ice. Bring binoculars and cameras. Virtual 5K Bee Run/Walk/Bike
Supporting pollinators and celebrating the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, hundreds of participants are expected to either run/walk/ or bike the event’s traditional route starting at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis or other routes of their own choosing.

Anoka County residents who take the pledge to walk or bike on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, will receive a free Earth Day goodie bag with several sustainable items from Anoka County Commute Solutions, and they will have the chance to compete in three different contests.

Stop by Beltrami Park any time between 9:30 and noon on Saturday, April 24 to pick up a cleaning supply kit, then hit the neighborhood. The goal of Earth Day Cleanup is to provide a volunteer experience and environmental education to Minneapolis residents and park users. This annual event involves cleaning Minneapolis parks, neighborhoods, watersheds and water bodies. Since the first Earth Day cleanup, more than 140,000 lbs. of garbage have been removed from Minneapolis parks.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and City of Minneapolis annual Minneapolis Earth Day Clean-Up event, Saturday, April 24, 9:30 am-noon, has moved to DIY mode. You can use a trash bag from home or pick up supplies, including bags and gloves, at participating Earth Day sites throughout the city, including Beltrami, Boom Island, Waite, and Windom parks.

May AFCAC meeting
The Above the Falls Community Advisory Committee (AFCAC), an organization made up of community representatives from neighborhoods, businesses, and environmental organizations, will meet Tuesday, May 4, 7-9 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend AFCAC meetings; and representatives from the Lind-Bohanon and McKinley neighborhoods are especially needed.
