St. Anthony High School band fundraiser
The St. Anthony Village High School Jazz Band will perform at Barnes & Noble Har Mar, Saturday, Dec. 15, 1-2:30 pm. Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale, 9 am-10 pm, to St. Anthony High School bands.

Friends of the Mississippi call for poetry submissions
Friends of the Mississippi River has issued a call for submissions for its winter Write to the River creative writing project. Poets are invited to share an original poem or short prose response to seasonal images along the Upper Mississippi River.

Author Talk with Colin Mustful
Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Ave. NE, will host an Author Talk with Minnesota author and historian Colin Mustful, Wednesday, June 19, at 6 pm. In his latest novel, “Resisting Removal,” Mustful writes about the history of the Ojibwe people of Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin.

“Hidden Human Computers” Author Talk with Duchess Harris
The St. Anthony Friends of the Library will have an Author Talk, Monday, Oct. 21, 6:15-8 pm, at The Legacy of St. Anthony. Duchess Harris, co-author of “Hidden Human Computers: The Black Women of NASA,” will discuss her research and the history behind her book, as well the movie “Hidden Figures.”
