NE Park Fest
Lower NE Neighborhoods Association (LNENA) will hosting their annual NE Park Fest in partnership with the Minneapolis Parks Department. This event centers around community members engaging together to access entertainment, food, information and resources. It is a free, public-facing event held outside NE Park Recreation Center, 1530 Johnson St. NE, on Monday, July 21, 6-8:30 pm.

Nonprofit Newgate School, 2900 E. Hennepin Ave., will celebrate its 50th year of offering free mechanic school training to underserved young adults on Saturday, Aug. 2, 10 am-2 pm. The event will include a car show, music, food trucks, awards, raffles and kids' activities. Suggested donation: $10.

The National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge encourages communities to create habitats for the monarch butterfly and other pollinators and educate residents about how to make a difference. As part of the Monarch Pledge, the City of Columbia Heights will hold a Monarch Festival on Thursday, Aug. 14, 4-7 pm at Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE, with activities and entertainment celebrating pollinators.
