Christmas Bazaar and Village Display
The Holy Cross Rosary Guild will host its annual Christmas Bazaar and Village Display in Kolbe Hall, 1630 4th St. NE. "Sip & Shop Event" on Friday, Dec. 5, 6-8 pm with music & sing-along, crafts, baked goods and appetizers. Free admission with donations welcome. Join a naturalist for a walk along the trails. Observe seasonal changes happening across the habitats and landscapes. Bring binoculars if you have them or some will be available to borrow at the park. Drop-ins welcome. Hike departs shortly after 2 pm from in front of the visitor center. Participants ages 11 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Dress for the weather. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2-3 pm, Silverwood Park. Free.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will arrive Sunday, Dec. 14 at 37th Ave. and Stinson Blvd. in Minneapolis at 8:15 pm. American Authors and Pynk Beard will provide live entertainment during the half-hour stop. Monetary and heart-healthy food donations encouraged. Proceeds benefit East Side Neighborhood Services.

The Columbia Heights Fire Department's annual Holiday City Tour will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 5-6:30 pm. Columbia Heights Recreation will host Cookies & Cocoa with Santa from 6-8 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. Toys and nonperishable food items will be collected along the route and at Murzyn Hall.

Join the Epsilon Rho Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated (a Black Greek Letter Organization) for story hour at the cafe. Grab a drink, snack and pull up a seat for this live reading from the rich literary tradition of African American authors. 1-2 pm, Saturday, June 21.
