Pride in the Park
Columbia Heights LGBTQ Pride Festival ("Pride in the Park"), a family-friendly, sober, smoke-free celebration with food trucks, live music, a drag show and local vendors will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 11 am-4 pm at Kordiak Park, 1845 49th Ave NE. Saturday, Sept. 12, 3-7 pm at Waite Park, 1810 34th Ave. NE. Local arts and craft vendors, civic group and nonprofit tables, live music, kids games, face painting, food trucks and free hot dogs and veggie burgers while supplies last. TapMPLS will provide a drinking water station. (Bring a water bottle to help reduce waste.) Music by Rumblestrip, 120 Minutes and beefCAKE.

Saturday, Sept. 19, is free admission day at the Mill City Museum, 704 S. 2nd St. From 10 am-5 pm, you can explore every exhibit, with the exception of the Flour Tower elevator show, which will not be available. Access to the 9th floor observation deck will still be available.

Sunday, Sept. 27, 2:30–5:30 pm, River Hub Pavilion, Graco Park, 15 8th Ave. NE. Beaver Day Parade is a community gathering and puppet parade on the banks of the Mississippi River. Learn about beaver research and behavior from scientists and ambassadors, get beavered with face paint or accessories, print beaver bandanas, and meet other beaver-curious people! Who will be there: Fairfax Beaver Lab, Friends of Bde Psin (Lake Hiawatha), The Bell Museum, On Native Land, Science Museum of MN, Beaver Puppet Collaborative Puppeteer.

Family Gathering Concert
PILLAR Forum, 2300 Central Ave. NE, will host a free Family Gathering Concert on Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 am. Colin Bracewell and School of Rock will perform. The concert is part of the City of Minneapolis' work to build community by bringing families together and supporting independent music venues. Funded through the $7 million Small Business Resiliency Fund, the series supports Minneapolis businesses and communities impacted by Operation Metro Surge.
