PACIM (Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota) is having their annual Soup Tasting Festival Sun., Oct. 27, 10:30 am–2:30 pm at Kolbe Hall in St. John Paul II School, 1630 4th St. NE., Seven ethnic soups will be available, including mushroom, borscht, zurek and Bigos.  Children 10 and under, $7; adults $15. Compassionate Ocean Zen Center, located across the street from the Casket Arts building, is having an open house during Open Casket Weekend at the Casket Arts Building. The Center will be open Friday, Nov. 8, 5–8 pm, and Saturday, Nov. 9, 1–3 pm. Tour the Zen Center, learn about their programs, meet guiding teachers, enjoy refreshments. The ever-popular Northeast Calendar will be available for pickup at a location near you.  It contains images created by 13 Northeast artists. The calendar also includes fun facts about the neighborhoods, information on the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District and spotlights on arts allies Silverwood Park and the Eastside Food Co-op. The St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30, 10 am-2 pm at St. Anthony Community Center, 3301 Silver Lake Rd.  An array of local vendors will showcase their unique products and services, perfect for your holiday shopping needs. Minneapolis Parks and Recreation will host two vendor markets at Nicollet Island, 40 Power St. The Fall Market will take place Sunday, Nov. 17, 10 am-4 pm, and the Winter Market will occur Sunday, Dec. 15, 10 am-4 pm. Bring your own tables, chairs, and linens. Booths will be set up inside a heated pavilion and attached heated tent.
