Oct. 8-12, The Main Cinema, 115 Main St., will be buzzing with five days and nights of screenings, visiting filmmakers, fiestas and food trucks. Minneapolis Parks & Recreation is offering a new workshop, "I Was Just Diagnosed With Alzheimer's (AD) or Mild Cognitive Impairment, Now What?" Presented by an ex-teacher who was diagnosed with AD. There is almost no support for people who are newly diagnosed with AD; support from the medical community or insurance companies typically doesn't begin until 3-5 years after diagnosis.
