Columbia Heights Police and Columbia Heights Parks and Recreation have planned activities for kids who will be out of school during the MEA convention.
CHPD Teen Academy: Thursday, Oct. 15 and Friday, Oct. 16, 9 am-4 pm. A two-day immersive experience for students in grades 9-12 who are interested in learning about law enforcement. Breakfast and lunch provided. Free. Register by Oct. 12: chohi.mn/teenacademy.
Horseback riding and Fall Fun: Thursday, Oct. 15, 9:30 am-5 pm, Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St NE. A morning of horseback riding at Bunker Park Stables, followed by a movie, snack and crafts. Grades 4-9, $65 (includes transportation). Register by Oct. 1: cohi.mn/bunkeryouthtrip.
