Great North Star Read Together: Saturday, Sept. 20, 11 am-1 pm. Celebrate libraries in Minnesota with the Great North Star Read Together. Bring your current read, whatever is next on your TBR, your favorite comfort read or find something new at the library and settle in for some reading. Minnesotans are invited to gather at designated host sites to show support for all libraries and the vital role they play in our communities. Senior Puzzle Challenge: Thursday, Sept. 25, 10:30 am-12:30 pm. Register in teams of one to four people for a puzzle contest at the library. Complete a 300-piece puzzle in the time allotted to be eligible for the prize drawing and bragging rights. Brought to you by the Friends of the Columbia Heights Library. This event is geared toward seniors, but all adults are welcome. Space is limited and registration is required: call or email Adult Services Librarian Elizabeth at 763-706-3681 or eripley@columbiaheightsmn.gov to register.
Getting Started with Library Databases: Tuesday, Sept. 30, 4:30-6 pm. Drop in between 4:30-6 to explore the amazing databases the library offers. Librarians will be available for one-on-one assistance to help you learn about and access resources like Kanopy for streaming; HelpNow for homework support; CreativeBug for arts instruction and inspiration; and LearningExpress Library for test preparation, skill building, and career resources, and more. Remember to bring your library card and PIN. This program is best for parents and adults.
