Master Gardeners Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic: Saturday, July 12, 11 am-2 pm. Do you ever wonder what’s eating your plants, what weeds are growing in your lawn, or why your
tree looks sick? Master Gardeners are available to assist in diagnosing common landscape and gardening questions at the Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic. Bring up to 3 samples for
identification or diagnosis of plant and insect issues. Presented in partnership with the Anoka County Master Gardeners.
Somali Museum of Minnesota Traveling Exhibit: Saturday, July 19, 11 am-1 pm. The Somali Museum brings Somali culture to you with its traveling exhibit of traditional Somali artworks.
An exhibition of 10-20 artifacts from the Somali Museum’s permanent collection where the audience will be able to learn about the history, the use, and creation of certain artifacts from the
exhibition. And, a question-and-answer exploration period, during which audiences can discuss and ask Somali Museum staff about individual pieces or anything pertaining to the Somali culture.
Funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Sand Painting and Rangoli Workshop: Wednesday, July 23, 5 pm-7 pm. Learn about Indian culture, history and celebrations through art. Explore the uses of temporary art, or art made from chalk, sand, or rice flour. Rangoli designs are a temporary floor art that people create and redo on a daily basis in India in order to bring good luck and happiness to the home. Create stylized rangoli designs with flour or colored sand, which can be displayed temporarily or transferred to paper. Registration required; registration opens 4 weeks in advance. Funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
