Columbia Heights Jamboree
The Columbia Heights Lions Club will hosting the annual Jamboree Thursday, June 26, through Sunday, June 29, at Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE. Thursday night the City Knights band will entertain. Friday night the parade kicks off at 6 pm, and the DNR Band will play after the parade ends. The National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge encourages communities to create habitats for the monarch butterfly and other pollinators and educate residents about how to make a difference. As part of the Monarch Pledge, the City will hold a Monarch Festival on Thursday, Aug. 14, from 4-7 pm, Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE, with activities and entertainment celebrating pollinators.

Now in its 27th year, the Northeast Community Band will perform its final concert of the season at Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE, Wednesday. Aug. 20, 6:30 pm. The band rehearses on Thursday nights at Edison High School during the school year. Each year, the band awards a scholarship to an Edison senior to encourage them to continue their musical journey.
