The members of Oak Hill Baptist Church invite the community to join them in celebrating the history of their current building and ministries and the former Oakwood Elementary School on Sunday, Sept. 8. It is anticipated that the building and property, located at 4141 University Ave. NE, will be purchased this fall by Prodeo Academy, a well-regarded charter school. Oak Hill Baptist’s ministry will continue in a local site, still to be determined.
Celebration Sunday will begin with a service from 1-2:30 pm. Afterward, cake and coffee will be served, and tours of the building will be provided until 4 pm. Among other memories being shared, past pastors will participate in the activities of the day. Former church members and students of Oakwood Elementary School are welcome to join the celebration and share memories during the event.
