“Indeed We Can” for Edison Community Sports
Plan to attend the Wednesday, Oct. 21 "Indeed We Can" event to benefit the Edison and Community Sports Foundation. All profits raised from beer tap-rooom sales, delivery and to-go sales from 3-10 pm will be donated to the ECSF. Because of COVID guidelines, Indeed will practice safety measures enforced by city code. HeightsNEXT Columbia Heights cleanup
HeightsNEXT is organizing volunteers for a fall cleanup along Central Avenue. Volunteers’ efforts will freshen up local streetscapes and prevent trash from drifting with next spring’s melting snow through storm drains into the Mississippi River. Meet at 1 pm, Sunday, Nov. 1, in the Columbia Heights Public Library parking lot.

COVID-19 has taken down another holiday tradition, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. CP Rail announced the decorated train, which traditionally stops in various cities collecting food and money for local food shelves, will not make its run through the Northeast area this year. Instead, CP will donate $1.24 million to 201 food banks in communities across the U.S. and Canada that ordinarily host the train.
