Minneapolis DIY Earth Day
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and City of Minneapolis annual Minneapolis Earth Day Clean-Up event, Saturday, April 24, 9:30 am-noon, has moved to DIY mode. You can use a trash bag from home or pick up supplies, including bags and gloves, at participating Earth Day sites throughout the city, including Beltrami, Boom Island, Waite, and Windom parks.

Join the Lions for an afternoon of fun, bowling, food, games, and camaraderie. Open to the public, must preregister. Cost is $180 per lane (up to six players) includes shoes and a taco bar lunch. Friends of the Mississippi River will meet June 8 to plant additional plugs of prairie grass and pull garlic mustard at their prairie restoration site on Nicollet Island. All are welcome. Save a life, give blood
The need for blood is constant, but due to the pandemic, many drives have been canceled or postponed. To replenish supplies for Twin Cities’ hospitals, trauma centers, and air ambulance bases, more healthy donors are needed at blood drives and donor centers in the coming weeks.
