Our River Campaign
Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) is excited to unveil the Our River Campaign, an effort to ensure the health of the Mississippi River and the well-being of the communities it serves. Help needed at First Responders’ holiday buffet
Dec. 24 marks the 41st anniversary of the Second Precinct Advisory Council’s (2-PAC) holiday buffet for Minneapolis first responders. Help your Eastside neighbors carry on this longstanding tradition by volunteering a couple hours to pick up food donations from local restaurants, set up and greet attendees at the buffet or deliver meals to first responders unable to leave their work sites on the day of the buffet. Days for Girls Sew-a-thon
The Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club will host a Days for Girls Sew-a-thon at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland St. NE, Saturday, Feb. 1, 9-11 am. The volunteers will be making feminine hygiene kits for girls in developing countries. Empty Bowls NE
Potters create handcrafted bowls; Northeast restaurants provide soup/bread; you donate what you can and keep your bowl as a reminder of hunger in the community; proceeds go to local food shelves.
