SACA’s free produce distributions
Southern Anoka Community Assistance will distribute free produce in partnership with Second Harvest Heartland on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, July-September, 8:30-11 am (or while supplies last). Distribution takes place in the SACA parking lot at 627 38th Ave. NE. SACA Food Shelf distributes up to 10,000 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables at each event. HeightsNEXT fall cleanup
Gather at the Columbia Heights Public Library at 9 am Saturday, Oct. 12, to get safety vests, garbage bags and street assignments. Park assignments are made for families with young children who participate. Each group goes to their area and safely picks up trash from the sidewalks and vegetation along the sidewalks (or park). Help clean up the riverfront Saturdays, Oct.26, and Nov. 2, 9 am-noon. Meet at the corner of 3rd Ave. SE and Main St. SE, across from the Pillsbury A-Mill.
