Minneapolis Parks and Recreation will host two free performances of "Madagascar Jr.: A Musical Adventure" at two Northeast parks later this month. For familes and kids 5-12, Madagascar Jr. is a musical based on the smash DreamWorks animated movie, Madagascar! Bilingual monarch festival
Celebrate the monarch butterfly Wednesday, Aug. 9, starting at 5 pm at Kordiak Park, 1845 49th Ave. NE. A bilingual Spanish and English celebration with monarch and pollinator information booths, food trucks, games, traditional Mexican dance and music, an Encanto and Coco dance party, a monarch costume parade and an opportunity to learn more about how to help monarch butterflies. If dressing up suits you, come dressed as a butterfly or pollinator.
