Donate blood in the Heights
The Columbia Heights Police Department will host a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, Oct. 24, 10 am-4 pm. Blood will be collected in the fire bays at the Columbia Heights Public Safety Bldg, 825 41st Ave NE. For the third year, Columbia Heights will assemble a wall calendar featuring images submitted by the public. This year’s theme is “Art of Columbia Heights.” Three categories of submissions are eligible: 1.) Paintings, drawings, or graphic designs by Columbia Heights residents or of Columbia Heights landmarks, events, or performers. 2.) Speakeasy to benefit Northeast Minneapolis Arts District
When studios in Northeast Minneapolis open for the weekend of November 4-5-6, visitors can purchase cocktails at the basement Speakeasy at Casket Arts building. The Speakeasy is open 5-10 pm on Friday, Nov. 4, 2-8pm on Saturday, Nov. 5 and noon-4pm on Sunday, Nov. 6 with profits going to support Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. Friends of the Northeast Library Book Sale
Bargain hunters and book lovers take note: Friends of the Northeast Library Booksale, Friday, Dec. 2, 9 am-5 pm and Saturday, Dec. 3, 9 am-4 pm. Most books are $1. Sunday, Dec. 11, 3 pm. This free concert will feature favorite Christmas hymns and carols sung by Salem’s children, youth and adult choirs. NE Community Band holiday concert–RESCHEDULED
The Northeast Community Band will present its holiday concert at Edison High School, 700 22nd Avenue NE, Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. The concert will begin at 7 pm.
