Pumpkins & Powerdrills
Pumpkins & Powerdrills, the Minnesota Tool Library's annual fundraiser, will take place across three locations and dates: Saturday, Oct. 25, 12-4 pm at Bauhaus Brew Labs, 1315 Tyler St. NE; 1-5 pm Sunday, Oct. 26 at Fulton Taproom, 414 N. 6th Ave.; and 5-9 pm Thursday, Oct. 30 at BlackStack Brewing, 755 Prior Ave. N, St. Paul. The event is family-friendly and free to attend;donations and/or purchasing pumpkins day-of are appreciated. Zen Center Open Houses
Compassionate Ocean Zen Center, 652 17th Ave. NE, invites the broader community to either of two open houses: Friday, Nov. 14, 7-9 pm, or Saturday, Nov. 15, 1-3 pm. Tour the Zen Center, mingle with members of the sangha, enjoy light refreshments and attend a brief presentation from guiding teachers on Zen and the Center's upcoming activities. The Northeast Chorale will present "The Road Home," a concert of reflection and hope featuring works by Stephen Paulus, Kyle Pederson, Albert Brumley, Irving Berlin and Beethoven. Lake Wobegon Brass Band holiday concert
The Lake Wobegon Brass Band will present its 2025 holiday concert on Saturday, Dec. 6 at First Lutheran Church, 1555 40th Ave. NE. Admission to this concert is $10 at the door, with free admission for students with school ID. The 30-piece ensemble, led by LWBB Associate Conductor Dr. Donald Krubsack, will perform a variety of festive seasonal music arranged for brass and percussion. The concert starts at 7:30 pm.

The Columbia Heights Fire Department's annual Holiday City Tour will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 5-6:30 pm. Columbia Heights Recreation will host Cookies & Cocoa with Santa from 6-8 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. Toys and nonperishable food items will be collected along the route and at Murzyn Hall.
