Polka Time at Murzyn Hall
The Midwest Polka Association presents a special polka presentation at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE, on Sunday, Oct. 27, 1-5 pm. Including polka group, Zander's Music Raymakers, from Pulaski, Wis., featuring musicians ages 11 and 12, and local band, Twin City Soundz. Admission is $12 per person. Bar available. Arts District Speakeasy
The Northeast Minneapolis Arts District’s annual Speakeasy is Friday, Nov. 8, 5-10 pm, Saturday, Nov. 9, noon-8 pm and Sunday, Nov. 10, noon-5 pm, coinciding with the Fall Open Studios – Open Casket event. It will be in the lower level of the Casket Arts Building, mirroring the often-hidden secret hideaways used for prohibition-era alcohol consumption. Minneapolis Parks and Recreation will present the Arnold Schwarzenegger film "Jingle All The Way" at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, 40 Power St., Sunday, Nov. 17. Doors open at 6:30, film at 7. The movie was filmed in the Twin Cities, with scenes at iconic local landmarks such as the Hennepin Avenue Bridge, the Mall of America and Mickey’s Diner. Bring a blanket. Death Café at Curiouser Foods

The Midwest Polka Association invites the community to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of listening and dancing to a popular local polka band, Doctor Kielbasa. The dance will be held on Sunday, December 15 from 1-5 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE. A celebration of December birthdays will happen, as well, so come and enjoy a cupcake with the birthday dancers! Admission is $10 per person. Bar service is available. Are you caring for a friend or family member with dementia or any lengthy illness or injury? St. Anthony Community Services will host a monthly in-person facilitated group to provide support and resources for care partners. Amy House, a trained facilitator, has designed this group for care partners of any age.
