PACIM Soup Tasting Festival
PACIM (Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota) will hold their annual Soup Tasting Festival Sun., Nov. 19, 11 am-3 pm, Kolbe Hall in St. John Paul II School (next to Holy Cross Church), 1630 4th St. NE. The Northeast Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Northeast Celebration Thursday, Nov. 30, 4:30-6 pm at Jax Cafe, 1928 University Ave. NE. The event is a fundraiser for the Edison High School Voyager Scholarship Fund. The goal of Voyager is to develop successful graduates of Minneapolis Edison High School with the qualifications and experience needed to meet or exceed job requirements. Book sale at Pierre Bottineau
Friends of the Pierre Bottineau Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 am-2 pm at the Pierre Bottineau Library, 55 Broadway St. NE. Hundreds of adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books (most 50¢ - $1) in hardcover and paperback. They will also sell "blind date" books. Items have been withdrawn from the Hennepin County Library system or donated by the public. Funds raised will benefit the library. Cash only. Mel Hart Scholarship fundraiser
Mel Hart graduated from St. Anthony Village High School in 1963. He was killed in action on May 4, 1966, while serving his country. In honor of Mel's memory and achievements, a scholarship bearing his name was established at St. Anthony High School. Steele & Hops will hosting a breakfast fundraiser Saturday, April 6, 9-11 am.
