U.S. Air Guitar Championships to benefit SACA
On Wednesday, June 26 at 7 pm, U.S. Air Guitar, Route 47 Pub & Grub, Fridley Lions Club and SACA Food Shelf will host the 2024 Minneapolis U.S. Air Guitar Championships. The championships will be held at Route 47 Pub & Grub, 7820 University Ave. NE, Fridley. The participation fee is $15 and tickets to attend are $5 with proceeds supporting Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA Food Shelf and Thrift Store). Summer Slam
Summer Slam is a fundraiser for the Thomas Edison high school wrestling team to support their need for new gear and other expenses. The event will begin on July 12 with a barbecue at noon and wrestling matches starting at 3:30 pm. The matches will include high-level high school wrestlers who didn’t get the opportunity to face each other this past season along with some collegiate wrestlers from around the country, with 8+ different states represented. SACA Golf Tournament
On Thursday, Aug. 15 at 12 pm, golfers and SACA supporters will gather at Columbia Golf Club, 3300 Central Ave. NE, to “drive away hunger” on the course. The golf tournament fundraiser raises over $10,000 for SACA (Southern Anoka Community Assistance) annually. Ukrainian Festival
Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21, Ukrainain American Community Center, 301 Main St. NE.
