Portrait Pop-up fundraiser
Print the Love, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Minneapolis, will hold a Portrait Pop-up fundraiser Thursday, April 10, 2:30-6:30 pm at 2303 Kennedy St. NE, #501. For $75, you can have a portrait of you, your family or your pet taken by one of five volunteer photographers. The Ukrainian American Community Center, 301 Main St. NE, has begun its Lenten annual fish fries. For $15, you get fish, pierogies, French fries, cole slaw. Newgate 50th Anniversary
Nonprofit Newgate School, 2900 E. Hennepin Ave., will celebrate its 50th year of offering free mechanic school training to underserved young adults on Saturday, Aug. 2, 10 am-2 pm. The event will include a car show, music, food trucks, awards, raffles and kids' activities. Suggested donation: $10.
