Mt. Carmel Flower Sale
Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 1701 St. Anthony Pkwy., will hold its Annual Flower Sale over Mother's Day weekend, Thurday, May 7, 12-7 pm; Friday, May 8, 9 am-7 pm; Saturday, May 9, 10 am-4 pm and Sunday, May 10, 10 am-2 pm. Plants supplied from Pletschers. Saturday will feature "Family Fun Day on Ulysses" with hot dogs, sodas and fun activities for kids while you shop. Portion of proceeds go to Little Kitchen Food Shelf. Info: mountcarmelmpls.org.

Rap artist Nur-D will perform Friday, May 15 at Edison High School, 700 22nd Ave. NE. Doors open for "Tommies Tonight" at 5:30 pm; the program begins at 6 pm. Free, but donations are encouraged. Wha' Jamaican will provide food for sale.

Alight-A-Whirl is an art sale – the weekend of Art-A-Whirl – benefiting refugee families in Minnesota and around the world. The sale is sponsored by Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee), a Minnesoata-based international humanitarian organization serving 4 million refugees and displaced people. The sale will be held May 16 and 17 at 1325 Quincy St. NE, Suite A1.

Scout Troop 132 (NE Mpls.) will host their 27th annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser Sunday, May 17, 8:30 am-12 pm at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 1701 St. Anthony Parkway. Tickets are available on site- youth $7; adults $10. Allergen-free options available, too.

Food Truck Festival
Father Hennepin Bluff Park, 420 Main St. SE, will be the scene of the Minnesota Food Truck Festival Saturday, Aug. 1, 11 am-9 pm. More than 40 food trucks will be on hand for this free event, where every free wristband provides three meals for those in need via Feed My Starving Children. Music will be provided by Whiskey Stone, Tyte Phitt and Alex Rossi. Kid and canine-friendly.
