“The 2020 Census will allocate a massive amount of funding and resources to the Northeast Minneapolis community — it is crucial that everyone is represented.” That’s the message from the CarryOn Homes team and Northeast Artist Witt Siasoco. While the pandemic is preventing a traditional public unveiling of “Collection Point,” the theme of collections that influenced the piece is prompting a collecting of donated art supplies for local organizations. HeightsNEXT Columbia Heights cleanup
HeightsNEXT is organizing volunteers for a fall cleanup along Central Avenue. Volunteers’ efforts will freshen up local streetscapes and prevent trash from drifting with next spring’s melting snow through storm drains into the Mississippi River.
