Summer Tennis
Northeast, Waite and Windom Parks will offer introductory tennis lessons this summer for kids 6-17. Hourly lessons run Monday–Friday June 16–Aug. 1 (no classes over July 4 holiday week). Class times are grouped by age. Weekly registration options. Limited class sizes with low player-to-coach ratios. Scholarships available for all youth in need. $70/week or discounted rate of $350 for all 6 weeks. parks@innercitytennis.org

The Columbia Heights Lions Club will hosting the annual Jamboree Thursday, June 26, through Sunday, June 29, at Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE. Thursday night the City Knights band will entertain. Friday night the parade kicks off at 6 pm, and the DNR Band will play after the parade ends. Salo Park Summer Concert: Ecuador Manta
Ecuador Manta, an Andean band with a unique music style using the traditional rhythms from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Columbia and combining them with more contemporary Latin and Caribbean rhythms, will perform at Salo Park, on 39th Ave. NE between Silver Lake Road and Stinson Blvd., 7-8 pm, Thursday, Aug. 7. .
