SAV Fire Department Open House
Come learn about various safety topics, tour the fire station, see the fire trucks and meet the firefighters that serve the city. There will be many different safety presentations and booths throughout the fire station grounds. This is an event for all ages! Cost: Free. Includes a free lunch and safety activity bags for the kids. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, 1–4 pm. St. Anthony Fire Department, 3505 Silver Lake Road NE.

Saturday, Oct. 12. The annual fundraiser dashes off at 9 am from Boom Island Park. Last year we welcomed more than 500 runners and walkers to the spectacular neighborhood riverfront route. Registration is $35 through Oct. 8, then $40 through race day. Fall colors will be peaking. Rain or shine. The St. Anthony Friends of the Library will have an Author Talk, Monday, Oct. 21, 6:15-8 pm, at The Legacy of St. Anthony. Duchess Harris, co-author of “Hidden Human Computers: The Black Women of NASA,” will discuss her research and the history behind her book, as well the movie “Hidden Figures.”
