Death Café at Curiouser Foods

The Midwest Polka Association invites the community to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of listening and dancing to a popular local polka band, Doctor Kielbasa. The dance will be held on Sunday, December 15 from 1-5 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE. A celebration of December birthdays will happen, as well, so come and enjoy a cupcake with the birthday dancers! Admission is $10 per person. Bar service is available. Duchnovich Day Celebration
The Rusin Association will hold its annual Duchnovich Day Celebration, Saturday, Feb. 7, St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral Parish Center, 1701 5th St NE. Starting at 1 pm there will be a lecture by Dr Nicholas Kupensky on the Carpatho-Rusyn national awakener, Aleksander Dukhnovych, followed by dinner. Dr. Kupensky is an associate professor of Russian and Foreign Area Studies at the United States Air Force Academy and lectures at the Carpatho-Ruthenorum Summer School in Presov, Slovakia. Edison All-Comers Track Meet

The Columbia Heights Community Art & Info Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 4-7 pm, at Huset Park West, 520 Mill St. NE. The Columbia Heights Lions will host the Annual Jamboree June 25-28. Thursday through Saturday there is a $2 gate fee for anyone 13 and up; 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Hours are: Thursday, June 25, 5-10:30 pm; Friday, June 26, 3 pm-12 am; Saturday, June 27, 1 pm-12 am. The parade starts at 6 pm Friday; music by DNR in the Beer Garden that evening.
