Active older adult programs at Northeast Park
Northeast Park, 1509 Johnson St. NE, will be the scene of many programs for 55-plus adults this fall. Weekly ongoing drop-in programs require no registration. Ready Camp, two-day emergency preparation training
Learn the basics of emergency preparedness at Ready Camp, hosted by the City of Minneapolis' Emergency Management department, on Oct. 22 and 23. The free two-day training at the Emergency Operations Training Facility will provide you knowledge and skills to build an emergency kit, develop a communication plan, prepare for severe weather emergencies and recovery from an emergency or disaster. Net-making Workshop
Try your hand at traditional net-making with artist Victoria Bradford Styrbicki. Learn the methods and materials used in commercial and recreational fishing along the Gulf Coast, and explore ways to expand on the counting, handwork, postures, rhythms and gestures of tying knots and weaving that go into this disappearing practice.
