Free clothing for women and children
Free clothing for children and women will resume at Elim Church Kidz Klozet and The Unlimited. First Thursdays of the month from 9-11 am at Elim Church 685 13th Ave. NE. Use the Madison St. entrance. Contact Janice, 651-491-9273. Hope Avenue, which provides clothing for homeless men, has moved to 1229 Logan Ave. N. Their hours are 8 am-3 pm, Monday-Thursday.

Days for Girls Sew-a-Thon
The Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club is sponsoring a Days for Girls Sew-a-Thon at Northeast United Methodist Church, 2510 Cleveland Street NE, on Saturday, Feb. 4, 9-11 am. Join Rotary members in sewing and assembling feminine hygiene kits for distribution to girls in developing countries so they can continue to stay in school and have choices in their lives. Holy Cross Church invites you to their annual Sauerkraut Supper, held in the auditorium of John Paul II Catholic School, 1630 4th St. NE, on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Dinner will served from 4-7 pm, and dancing will continue until 8 pm. The menu includes homemade sauerkraut, pork loin, Polish sausage, potatoes, rye bread, and paczki. Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will host a women's Lenten retreat, “Nourished By Living Waters.” The speaker will be Sister Michelle L’Allier, a Franciscan Sister of Little Falls, from the intentional community located at Franciscan Welcoming House in St. Cloud. Holy Cross will hold fish fries on Fridays throughout the Lenten season, with the exception of March 10 and April 7. They run 5-7 pm Feb. 24, March 3, 17, 24 and 31. Adults $12, children under 12 $2. All proceeds will go to the Don Bosco Youth Fund, which encourages the youth within the parish to pursue a life of discipleship through Catholic education, family faith formation and other youth activities.

Here's your chance to purchase traditional Ukrainian decorated eggs (pysanky), Ukrainian Easter breads (babka), Ukrainian handcrafted items, and a traditional Ukrainian dinner (take-out only). A special photo exhibit entitled “Ukraine: War and Resistance” will be on view, presented by the Fulbright Academic Exchange Program. A portion of proceeds benefit humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
